Maria has been practicing yoga for over 20 years in many different capacities. She has been a mental health counselor for over 25 years and incorporates yoga therapy and meditation in her practice. As a therapist, Maria uses yoga when working with athletes, teens and adults to reduce anxiety and assist in the essential mind-body connection to move toward overall well-being.

In addition to her private therapy practice, Maria has been teaching yoga to young swimmers on a local swim club for over 8 years.
